Festive Cranberry Sauce
To me, nothing says Christmas dinner quite like a dollop of cranberry sauce! This is a super easy way to add a healthy holiday touch to your dog's meals in December. Depending on your location, cranberries are local, in season and widely available in December.

Basic Ingredients:
-
1 cup of whole cranberries
-
4 Tablespoons of water
-
1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
Steps:
-
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
-
Put the lid on the pot and simmer on very low temperature for 15-20 minutes or until the berries have turned to sauce, stirring frequently.
-
Thin with extra water if the mixture is too thick.
-
Store in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze into tiny molds until ready to use.
Nutrition Tips:
-
Cranberries are quite tart and not every dog will enjoy them, so please respect your dog's taste preferences!
-
Try adding a half teaspoon to your dog's food as a special holiday garnish.
-
Cranberries are low in sugar and calories, but high in fiber and antioxidants. This sauce is concentrated so only add a tiny bit to your dog's food to avoid tummy upset.
-
Cranberries are often recommended to promote good bladder health.
